It still remains unknown when the new gTLDs (eg: .green, .eco, .free) will be coming and the time frame they will go live.  Applications for new gTLDs will be accepted during January 12 till April 12 of 2012.  This does not ensure that the currently proposed domain extensions will be approved by ICANN.  Approved new gTLDs are believed to go live in year 2013.  That year, however, is a merely guess based on current industry activity.
